blog.ninety-seven // Our next print issue of Creator Mag releases in just over two weeks, on October 15.
What does this mean? Well, for starters, weâre currently entering the final sprint. This issue, centered around the theme âTOUCH GRASS,â features over a dozen contributorsâeverything from personal essays to creator Q&As to even an AR art piece.1
A lot of work goes into creating the print. We conduct interviews, exchange drafts, organize photo shoots, and design each spread, down to the last pixel. Because of all these pieces moving together in harmony, we like to say that magazines are the ultimate form of collaboration.2
And the magazine is a living, breathing thing. We make each issue in tandem with you, our readers. Therefore, why wouldnât we celebrate the launch with you, too?
Join us for our next Block Party on October 15 in Los Angeles. Itâll be a night of celebration: live music, interactive activations, and fireside conversations, with a curated group of 75+ artists, filmmakers, and friends from around the creator world. You can RSVP here.
Weâll have more to share soonâincluding our cover star reveal. In the meantime, given all of our upcoming deadlines, we spent a week attempting to gamify our focusâŠusing Hank Greenâs chart-topping productivity app, Focus Friend.
Did it work? Can a simple, bean-centric app help us lock in? Watch the full video here.

P.S. Last blog, we chatted with the seventy-year-old creator of âTouch Grass Day,â held this past Saturday. You can read it here.
Thanks for reading! Shoot us a reply, comment, or DM if you have any questions or commentsâwe respond to them all.
âARâ = âAugmented Reality.â When you scan the pageâs QR code, an animation appears on your phone. Shout-out to contributor Karen Chow for crafting this!
If you ask anyone who works in magazine publishing, âcontrolled chaosâ might be a more accurate descriptor, but I digress.
