blog.forty-five // I’m writing this Sunday evening, less than twenty-four hours after we hosted our first Creator Mag Block Party.
To be transparent: I am quite tired. The team is, too. A more in-depth recap might have to wait for another blog.
With that being said, we’re endlessly grateful for the seventy of you who came through last night and celebrated with us. We had a lot of fun, and it meant a lot to see the neighborhood pop out like that—especially right here, in Chicago.
Scroll down to check out some photos from the event—thanks to the great Cris Campos for capturing the festivities. Additional thanks to Zak Chaouki for co-producing; Tia Wilson for moderating a conversation between Shua, Moy, and myself; and RJ Michaels and the staff at 800 West Fulton for setting us up with the venue.
Oh, and before I get ahead of myself…the new edition of Creator Mag is out now! We received them in-person in the studio on Friday, and they came out amazing. After months of hard work bringing the zine to life, it was cool sending everyone who attended the Block Party home with their unique copy, too.
If you’ve had a chance to read it, leave a comment or hit reply to let us know what you think! We’ll start shipping out orders to everyone else throughout this upcoming week.

P.S. Last blog, we talked with Chicago’s own Gracie Koh about exploring the directing/talent route and building a team. You can read it here.

Take any photos at the Block Party? Feel free to send them our way—we’d love to feature them in our next blog.
Thanks for reading! Shoot us a reply, comment, or DM if anything resonated with you in particular—we respond to them all.
